  • 1 lb 80/20 ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 1 cup green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup shredded provolone cheese (divided)
  • 1/2 cup plain breadcrumbs
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup ketchup (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, sauté chopped onion and green bell pepper until softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, sautéed veggies, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, breadcrumbs, eggs, and half of the shredded cheese. Mix gently until just combined.
  4. Shape the mixture into a loaf on a lined baking sheet or in a loaf pan.
  5. Press remaining cheese into the center of the loaf.
  6. Bake for about 60 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C). Let rest before slicing.
