Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 cup whole milk (warm)
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground cardamom
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for glazing)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine warm milk and granulated sugar; sprinkle yeast on top and let it foam for about 5 minutes.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together melted butter, eggs, and vanilla. Stir this mixture into the foamy yeast blend until well combined.
  3. Gradually fold in flour until a sticky dough forms; knead on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Prepare the filling by mixing brown sugar, cinnamon, cardamom, and melted butter in a small bowl.
  6. Roll out the dough into a rectangle, spread the filling evenly, then roll it up tightly and slice into rolls.
  7. Place rolls in a greased pan; bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Whisk powdered sugar with milk to make the glaze; drizzle over warm rolls before serving.
